Testing Out Our Samurai Moves
Testing Out Our Samurai Moves

One of the coolest things we did in Tokyo was visit the Samurai & Ninja Museum — and wow, was it fun! We went with Grandma and some friends, and it was part museum, part adventure, and totally awesome.

We started by learning all about samurai and ninjas — and yes, they are very different! Samurai were noble warriors with strict rules and two swords. Ninjas were sneaky, quick, and full of clever tricks. We saw how each group trained and what tools they used, and we loved seeing how their clothes and gear changed over time.

👘 Dressing Up & Trying It Out

Then came the best part: we got to dress up like samurai! The museum had amazing costumes — real samurai outfits from long ago — and we got to wear them! Helmets, armor, swords… the whole thing. Everyone looked so cool, and yes, even Grandma got into it!

After that, we got to try out some ninja skills — like learning how to move quietly and throw real ninja stars (shuriken)! Spoiler: it’s way harder than it looks. But it was super fun to try, and we all took turns practicing.

Almost!
Almost!

📝 What We Jotted

Back in our Jolly Jottings journal, here’s what we wrote:

  • Would you rather be a ninja or a samurai? Why?

  • Draw the armor or weapon you liked the most.

  • What secret ninja move would you create?

🥷 What About You?

We’re still not sure what we’d rather be — a silent, sneaky ninja or a brave, bold samurai. What about you? Tell us in the comments! And if you ever go to the Samurai & Ninja Museum in Tokyo, let us know how you liked it!

You can check them out right here if you're planning your own Tokyo adventure.

May your jottings be jolly !
